Job summary

MSA Safety Inc. is seeking an AI Engineer intern to help design, build, and scale AI-enabled applications and agentic workflows. You will work across the stack, orchestrating LLMs, tools, and cloud deployments to accelerate business processes and improve enterprise data usage.

The role emphasizes rapid learning, clear communication, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ship impactful features while adhering to strong engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in AI, CS, data science or related quantitative field.
• Experience building AI-enabled applications with agentic workflows and tool orchestration.
• Familiar with MLOps, model deployment, monitoring, and evaluation in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Proficient in Python; TypeScript is a plus.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow; transformer models knowledge beneficial.
• Understanding of cloud stack including containers, serverless, databases and observability.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and clean code; quick learner in AI landscape.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI-enabled apps powering intelligent search and workflows.
• Orchestrate agentic systems with tool use, multi-step reasoning, and real-world feedback loops.
• Deploy and monitor AI services on AWS; iterate based on user feedback.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into practical tools.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and drive technical decisions.
• Write clean, well-documented code and uphold CI/CD and testing practices.
