Job summary

AMD is seeking a highly technical leader to shape AI performance strategy, benchmarking, and developer tools across platforms. You will partner with engineering, architecture, developer relations, and strategic customers to drive high-impact AI performance for inference, training, and emerging workloads.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical credibility with product judgment and customer empathy, capable of discussing tradeoffs with technical and executive audiences and guiding roadmaps

Qualifications

• Proven years of software engineering, systems architecture, or performance engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks and runtimes (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, ONNX Runtime).
• Strong understanding of GPU computing, heterogeneous systems, and AI optimization.
• Experience with profiling, benchmarking, tracing, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical strategy for AI performance analysis, benchmarking, profiling, optimization, and tools across AMD platforms.
• Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to define product requirements, roadmaps, and measurable success criteria for AI performance and tooling.
• Analyze inference and training workloads to identify bottlenecks and recommend architectural and software improvements.
• Develop rigorous performance narratives, including benchmark methodologies and workload characterization.
• Influence roadmaps for profiling, debugging, observability, and tuning tools across AMD’s AI software ecosystem.
• Translate customer requirements into prioritized engineering features, fixes, and optimization initiatives.
• Engage strategic customers, cloud providers, OEMs, ISVs, and open-source communities to understand real-world workflows.
• Define reference workflows and reproducible methodologies for optimizing AI models and applications.
• Collaborate with developer relations, solutions architecture, marketing, and sales to communicate capabilities and accelerate adoption.
• Represent AMD in customer briefings, technical forums, and industry events.
