Job summary

AMD is seeking a systems-minded performance engineer in Austin to own workloads exposed to hyperscaler CPUs, Arm ecosystems, and AI-system architecture. You will measure cloud-native performance, price-performance, and host-CPU effects on accelerator utilization, comparing AMD EPYC with Intel and Arm platforms.

You will explore memory bandwidth, NUMA behavior, data movement, and scalability while communicating results concisely to business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering or closely related field.
• Experience benchmarking cloud-native workloads and performance profiling.
• Strong Linux systems skills and scripting for deployment and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain cloud-native and AI workload taxonomy for analysis and forecasting.
• Design reproducible methods for web services, containers, and scale-out data processing in AI systems.
• Compare AMD, Intel, Arm and cloud environments with aligned software versions and tuning policies.
• Analyze host-CPU impact on accelerator utilization and end-to-end AI system throughput.
