Job summary

BambooHR is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead AI-enabled engineering across the employee journey, transforming customer problems into applied-AI experiences with measurable value. You will build a culture of ownership, learning, and accountability while modernizing architecture and ensuring secure, reliable SaaS delivery.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in software development and engineering leadership.
• Proven track record as a director-level or leader-of-leaders role across multiple SaaS product teams.
• Strong business judgment and customer-outcome orientation.
• Experience guiding engineering teams through AI-native transformations.
• Ability to set architecture, quality, reliability, security, and technical health standards.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering outcomes for the employee journey across multiple teams and drive measurable results.
• Align stakeholders around a unified employee-journey strategy and communicate tradeoffs clearly.
• Lead AI-native product development with measurable customer value.
• Establish operating mechanisms, surface risk early, and ensure reliable execution across teams.
• Develop a high-performing leadership team with clear accountability and succession depth.
• Maintain high standards for security, reliability, and scalability of SaaS systems.
