Job summary

NewsBreak seeks a frontend-leaning software engineer in Mountain View, CA to own features end to end—from frontend architecture to API integration and production metrics. You will work with AI coding tools to generate, refactor, test, and debug production code while ensuring solid performance and reliability.

You will shape frontend systems, data flows, and testing patterns for consumer-scale products, collaborating across the stack to deliver complete experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with strong frontend or client-side product engineering.
• Experience shipping user-facing features in production and making frontend architecture decisions.
• Experience beyond frontend, designing or modifying APIs or backend services.
• Hands-on use of modern AI coding tools or coding agents in real development work.
• Strong fundamentals in debugging, reliability, testing, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Build user-facing products end to end from requirements through API integration and production rollout.
• Use AI as a core development tool to generate, refactor, test, and debug code.
• Own frontend architecture, maintainable components, and data flows for consumer-scale products.
• Cross boundary collaboration to implement API or backend changes for complete experiences.
• Enforce high quality with automated tests, observability, and controlled rollouts.
• Create reusable agent workflows and tooling to speed up development.
• Modernize legacy systems incrementally so AI can work across the stack.
• Own production outcomes by investigating performance issues and incidents.
