Job summary

NewsBreak is seeking an AI Engineer for its AI-Native Product Engineering team based in Mountain View, CA (onsite). You will build user-facing products end to end, owning frontend architecture and API integration, while leveraging AI as a core development tool with coding agents to accelerate production readiness.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with frontend focus.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals and React experience.
• Experience shipping production frontend features and architecture decisions.
• Experience designing or modifying APIs, backend services, or data contracts.
• Hands-on use of AI coding tools or coding agents in development.
• Strong fundamentals in debugging, reliability, testing, and performance.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply AI to adjacent stack areas.
• User-focused mindset aligned with business outcomes.
• Ability to work in fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Build user-facing products end to end from requirements to rollout.
• Use AI as a core development tool collaborating with coding agents.
• Own frontend architecture and maintainable component systems.
• Define and implement API or backend changes.
• Maintain high AI-generated code quality with automated tests, observability, staged rollout, and rollback.
• Improve AI-native workflow with agent workflows and tooling.
• Modernize legacy systems via incremental refactors.
• Own production outcomes by investigating performance issues, logs, metrics, experiments, and AI-assisted debugging.
