Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Senior Lead Marketing Data Platform Architect to define and evolve our marketing data platform and governance. You will lead Databricks-driven architecture, enable AI-ready data structures, and work with Adobe, Salesforce, and analytics teams to drive scalable, secure data solutions.

The role emphasizes architectural leadership, modernization, and collaboration across engineering and business functions to support advanced analytics and personalized marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or platform architecture.
• Hands-on with Databricks including Delta Lake and Spark.
• Experience with modern lakehouse architectures and enterprise data platforms.
• Advanced data modeling, SQL, and data architecture expertise.
• Experience designing AI-driven or AI-native data solutions and automation practices.
• Strong understanding of metadata management, lineage, observability, and data governance.
• Familiarity with Adobe's digital ecosystem and Salesforce architecture.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable, secure tech solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the architectural vision, governance, performance, and long‑term evolution of Lumen's marketing data platform.
• Lead the design, implementation, and operational strategy of Databricks as the platform for marketing data and intelligence.
• Define and maintain scalable data architectures supporting analytics, reporting, personalization, activation, and AI use cases.
• Establish platform standards for data modeling, ingestion, orchestration, observability, testing, security, and environment promotion.
• Design and govern reusable data products enabling trusted access to marketing data across the organization.
• Drive modernization initiatives to improve scalability, reduce debt, and accelerate delivery.
• Define governance standards for metadata management, lineage, schema control, data quality, and lifecycle management.
• Design for AI-native and agentic operations, including automated quality controls and deployment.
• Partner with Adobe, Salesforce, analytics, engineering, and business teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and patterns to improve platform performance and business value.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to engineers and stakeholders.
• Lead architecture reviews and document decisions to support long-term sustainability.
