Job summary

Wayve in London is seeking a Model Release Manager to own the full lifecycle of AI model releases—from hypothesis through training, evaluation, validation, and deployment across our vehicle fleet.

You will build processes, gates, and tooling with ML, software engineering, and product teams to ensure stable, timely releases while balancing safety and performance. This role blends release engineering rigor with pragmatic decision making.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in release management or related field.
• Strong SDLC and release-management practices understanding.
• ML fundamentals understanding of training vs inference and probabilistic validation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like GitHub and Buildkite.
• Skilled at managing releases in complex, fast-moving systems.
• Comfortable operating with high ambiguity and adapting release processes.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making in data-linite constraints.
• Good communication with engineers and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Model release planning & coordination: own the release cycle with cadence.
• Gating & promotion: define gates for hypothesis → deployment and justify criteria.
• Issues management: drive investigations and rollback/roll-forward actions.
• Bottleneck identification & improvement: create dashboards and KPIs.
• Process & systems building: align with development, evaluation, onboard stack, product.
• Tooling & automation influence: shape end-to-end automated release tooling.
• Cross-functional collaboration: work with ML eng, evaluations, data science, software platform, testing, product.
• Clarity & communication: central point for status, risks, and timelines.
