GlobalFoundries is seeking a curious and motivated AI/ML Systems Engineering Intern to characterize machine learning workloads and map compute and memory demands to hardware resources. You will work with experienced hardware and software engineers to gain hands-on experience in performance experimentation, analytical modeling, and clear technical communication.

Qualifications

• Sophomore status pursuing a Bachelor's/Master's in EE, CE, or related field.
• GPA 3.0+ and good academic standing.
• Courses applying linear algebra, probability, or numerical methods.
• Understanding of cache, memory bandwidth, and CPU pipelines.
• Experience with Python and data analysis tools (NumPy, pandas, matplotlib).
• English language proficiency (written and verbal).
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and work 40 hours/week.

Responsabilités

• Run performance experiments for AI/ML workloads and document observations.
• Build models to estimate throughput, latency, and memory usage.
• Collaborate with hardware/software engineers to connect workload behavior to design.
• Present findings via reports, visuals, and discussions.
