GlobalFoundries in California is seeking a curious and driven AI Software Intern to bridge cutting-edge machine learning research and scalable software production. Working alongside senior software engineers, the intern will build, optimize, test, and deploy AI models within an AI platform while gaining hands-on exposure to the AI inference software lifecycle and AI processor architectures.

The role offers mentorship, growth opportunities, and exposure to edge and cloud AI workflows.

Qualifications

• Sophomore status and pursuing a degree in CS/CE/Data Science during the internship.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA and good academic standing.
• Familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong OO programming and Git/GitHub version control.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and communicate trade-offs.
• English fluency; able to work 40 hours/week.

Responsabilités

• Assist with integrating, deploying, testing, and scaling ML models within AI pipelines.
• Analyze latency and memory usage; optimize AI inference for edge or cloud.
• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate prototyping, coding, testing, debugging.
• Document designs, configurations, benchmarks, interfaces, and APIs.
