Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Systems Development Engineer to build automation, diagnostics, and fleet health tooling for AI/ML server platforms. You will work across teams to create scalable, zero-touch operations and robust software that keeps our accelerator fleet healthy.

Based in Austin, TX, you will design monitoring dashboards, develop device drivers for Linux on x86/ARM, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines for rapid deployments. A background in C/C++, Python, and systems programming is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex architectural problems that may not be well-defined in advance and own your team's systems.
• Decompose large server testability, reliability, and diagnosis problems into tasks and components, delivering individually and in parallel.
• Develop automation and diagnostic tooling to reduce manual triage and improve fleet health.
• Define and build scalable system-level software focusing on durability, availability, security, and diagnostics.
• Build automation solutions using modern programming languages (Python, Ruby, Java, C/C++, etc.).
• Build, manage, and deploy CI/CD pipelines for rapid deployment of code changes to org-owned and customer-owned systems.
