Job summary

DIRECTV invites you to join the Summer Intern program in Clarksburg, MD, within the Product Development team, working on AI/ML driven video solutions for the commercial market.

This 10-week, in-person internship spans 3-5 days per week with dates 6/7/27–8/13/27 or 6/14/27–8/20/27. Must have full U.S. work authorization; pay ranges from $25 to $34 per hour, depending on academic status.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year undergraduate or advanced degree in AI/CS/SE/IT/DS.
• Proficiency in Python and its ML ecosystem (NumPy and pandas).
• Ability to write reproducible training and evaluation scripts.
• Experience with supervised, unsupervised, deep learning, or RL approaches.
• Familiarity with Linux and at least one ML framework (PyTorch or TensorFlow).

Responsibilities

• Assist in selecting the appropriate ML approach based on data and problem type.
• Support end-to-end model development: data collection, preprocessing, training, validation.
• Build and benchmark baseline models in Python for classification/regression.
• Experiment with ensemble methods to improve accuracy and generalization.
• Prototype deep learning architectures (CNNs, RNNs, transformers) using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and present findings to stakeholders.
