Job summary

DIRECTV invites students to join as a Summer Intern in Clarksburg, MD, to help the Product Development team tackle real-world problems in customer experience using AI and machine learning for video solutions.

You will develop AI/ML tools, work with video metadata and transcripts, and evaluate models, building pipelines and dashboards with Python and ML frameworks. This in-person program runs 10 weeks across June to August.

Qualifications

• Degree-seeking in AI/CS/Software Engineering, Information Technology, or Data Science.
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries required; ability to write reproducible scripts.
• Familiarity with ML model development lifecycle: data prep, training, validation, evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Develop artificial intelligence and machine learning tools.
• Contribute to AI-powered media intelligence platform analysis.
• Work with video metadata, transcripts, and AI/ML models for topics, summaries, event detection, and search.
• Evaluate AI models, develop data-processing pipelines, explore embeddings and semantic search.
• Prototype tools/dashboards to demonstrate new media intelligence use cases.
