Job summary

Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) seeks an experienced AI/ML Engineering Manager to lead a production AI/ML engineering function. You will design, deploy, scale, and support enterprise AI/ML solutions advancing student success, operational efficiency, and responsible AI adoption across the district.

You will manage a team of AI/ML engineers, developers, and analysts, while engaging with data engineering, governance, cybersecurity, analytics, and stakeholders to deliver secure,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in computer science, data science, software engineering, information systems, artificial intelligence, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in AI engineering, machine learning engineering, software engineering, and data engineering.
• Three (3) years deploying AI/ML solutions in cloud-based environments, and two (2) years leading projects or mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain enterprise AI/ML solutions.
• Lead and mentor AI/ML engineers and related staff.
• Ensure governance, security, and responsible AI practices across deployments.
• Collaborate with data architects, governance, analytics, and cybersecurity teams.
• Establish engineering standards and scalable patterns for AI solutions.
