Job summary

Candid Health is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to bring cutting‑edge AI capabilities to our healthcare automation platform. You will translate initial prototypes into a foundational set of differentiated ML/AI use cases across our system and customer base.

You’ll own AI strategy, build scalable infrastructure, partner with product and engineering leadership, and shape decisions on when to deploy deterministic models versus LLMs to maximize ROI and impact in healthcare billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or related field.
• 5+ years building software at scale and complexity.
• 3+ years AI engineering experience in a professional setting.
• Experience with ML systems and NLP models; familiarity with tools/frameworks.
• Ability to evaluate AI solutions vs deterministic approaches for ROI and cost efficiency.
• Knowledge of architecture patterns for scalable, durable AI platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own AI/ML features from concept to production across Candid’s platform.
• Drive technical AI strategy and apply state‑of‑the‑art techniques to real problems.
• Scale and integrate AI across products and customer workflows, improving RCM processes.
