Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Machine Intelligence Analyst to leverage AI/ML and advanced data analysis to enhance performance, safety, and efficiency of heavy equipment. The role integrates sensor data from CAN bus/Modbus with business intelligence to automate reporting and drive predictive maintenance.

Ideal candidates will have a data science/engineering background and experience in telematics, OCR, and real-time analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Advanced degrees preferred for senior roles.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to communicate technical findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Predictive Maintenance & Diagnostics: analyze sensor data to predict equipment failure.
• Telematics & Data Engineering: extract and analyze data from CAN bus, Modbus, GPS.
• Performance Optimization: develop AI/ML models to improve fuel efficiency and workflows.
• Automated Alerting & Reporting: create dashboards and alerts for abnormal machine behavior.
• Operational Safety: use ML to flag risky operator behaviors and ensure regulatory compliance.
