Job description

TrueNetCommunications is a national infrastructure engineering and specialty contractor serving the wireless, broadband, and telecommunications markets. We plan, design, build and support communications infrastructure for our clients across North America. Join our team of professionals where you can advance your career in a fast pace, GROWING industry! We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, 401k, paid time off and paid holidays!

The AI ISP Data Center Engineer will understand facility constraints such as power availability, cooling, aisle discipline, security boundaries, meet‑me‑room handoffs, and colocation procedures, while primarily owning the engineered build inside the cage. Deliverables include rack elevations, rail-to-NIC mappings, fiber and copper cabling plans, patching schedules, network cut sheets, bills of material, methods of procedure, implementation and test plans, and accurate redline/as‑built documentation. This is meant to be a guide. (Duties may vary dependent upon management.)

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed engineering designs for transport/access networks, Central Offices, Huts, Cabinets, and AI data centers, including equipment layouts, rack elevations, structured cabling, power requirements, and third‑party connectivity.
  • Engineer high‑density AI/HPC rack and cage infrastructure, including GPU cluster connectivity, compute and storage fabrics, management networks, fiber distribution, cable pathways, and equipment accessibility.
  • Support Lenovo NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 and comparable AI platform deployments, addressing rack‑scale connectivity, NVLink switches, power distribution, cooling, airflow, and installation requirements.
  • Interpret network diagrams, site surveys, customer specifications, and OEM documentation to determine equipment placement, material requirements, connectivity, and installation procedures.
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering packages, including WSP/LEEP documentation, network diagrams, rack elevations, port maps, cable schedules, bills of material (BOM), methods of procedure (MOP), test plans, and installation instructions.
  • Design copper and fiber infrastructure, including LC, MPO/MTP, OSFP/QSFP, Cat6A, single‑mode and multimode fiber, cross‑connects, carrier handoffs, and demarcation extensions in accordance with customer and industry standards.
  • Conduct site surveys and validate rack capacity, cable management, power distribution, airflow, equipment compatibility, and serviceability to ensure practical and scalable designs.
  • Coordinate with customers, network architects, OEM vendors, data center operators, project managers, and installation teams throughout engineering, deployment, testing, and network turn‑up.
  • Provide technical support during installation and implementation, resolve design issues, participate in project reviews, and maintain accurate redline drawings, as‑built documentation, and final engineering records.
  • Manage multiple engineering assignments, monitor schedules and deliverables, ensure compliance with customer standards, and provide timely project status updates to management and stakeholders.
