  • Document current-state and future-state workflows.
  • Prioritize automation opportunities by business impact and feasibility.
  • Quantify potential productivity, accuracy, visibility, quality, and cost savings.
  • Develop PoC and production-ready solutions using Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, Power BI, and related AI tech.
  • Create dashboards and reporting tools to improve insights.
  • Gather requirements, test solutions, and drive adoption with stakeholders.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Support AI governance, security, and responsible AI practices.

AI & Business Process Automation Internship (Fall/Winter 2026)

Position: AI & Business Process Automation Intern

Term: Fall/Winter 2026 (3-4 Month Internship)

Location: Hybrid/Remote with occasional on-site collaboration at our facilities in Cincinnati, OH; Kalamazoo, MI; Mankato, MN; or Wilmington, NC.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated student, recent graduate, or alumnus to participate in our Fall/Winter 2026 AI & Business Process Automation Internship Program. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience identifying, designing, and implementing practical AI and automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual work, increase data visibility, and streamline business processes across the organization.

Interns will partner with business leaders to evaluate current workflows, prioritize automation opportunities, develop proof-of-concept solutions, and deliver sustainable tools that create measurable business value. The role combines process improvement, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze business processes across functional areas including Operations, Human Resources, Finance, Customer Service, Sales, and Supply Chain.
  • Identify repetitive, manual, and time-intensive tasks suitable for AI and automation solutions.
  • Document current-state and future-state workflows and process maps.
  • Evaluate and prioritize automation opportunities based on business impact and implementation feasibility.
  • Quantify potential improvements in productivity, accuracy, visibility, quality, and cost savings.
  • Develop proof-of-concept and production-ready solutions utilizing Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, Power BI, and related AI technologies.
  • Create dashboards and reporting tools to improve business insights and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, test solutions, and drive adoption.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and project results to leadership teams.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, Cowork, or similar technology platforms.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience documenting, mapping, or improving business processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Understanding of AI governance, security considerations, and responsible AI principles.
