Job summary

Mevion Medical Systems is seeking an AI Innovation Intern to support the Enterprise Innovation team by researching, prototyping, and developing AI‑driven solutions. You will work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Sales, and other teams to quickly prototype ideas and evaluate new technologies.

The role offers hands‑on experience in building AI‑powered applications, documenting findings, and presenting completed projects to leadership.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in a technical field such as CS, software engineering, AI, data science or related discipline.
• Experience with one or more programming languages (Python, JavaScript, C#, Java) or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and collaboration abilities.
• Excellent communication and willingness to learn emerging technologies.
• Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or GitHub Copilot is desirable.

Responsibilities

The AI Innovation Intern supports the Enterprise Innovation team by researching, prototyping, and developing innovative solutions using Artificial Intelligence, automation, software development, data analytics, and emerging technologies. This internship provides hands‑on experience solving real business challenges across Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Sales, Quality, Operations, Finance, Human Resources, and other business functions. Interns will work alongside AI Innovation Engineers and business leaders to rapidly prototype ideas, evaluate new technologies, and help transform innovative concepts into practical business solutions. Essential Functions

• Research emerging AI technologies, tools, and industry trends.
• Assist in evaluating new technologies for potential business applications.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and innovation workshops.
• Explore creative solutions to business challenges using AI and automation.
• Assist in developing AI‑powered applications, prototypes, and workflow automations.
• Build proof‑of‑concept software using modern programming languages and AI platforms.

Education, Training, & Experience

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, C#, Java, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for learning emerging technologies.
• Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, or similar platforms is desirable but not required.
• Personal projects, hackathons, GitHub repositories, research projects, robotics, or other technical work demonstrating creativity and initiative are highly encouraged.
