Job summary

LABUR is partnering with a client to identify a VP, Innovation Engineering who will lead a senior build team on a rapid launch cadence. This role ships AI-driven B2B capabilities to production in weeks, reporting to the CTO and collaborating with product management and the executive team to convert ideas into scalable software.

The ideal candidate will be deeply technical, driving architecture decisions and shipping cadence for applications built on production data, while mentoring a small team

Qualifications

• Proven B2B application development experience in a product company.
• Demonstrated rapid iteration with short cycles and real user data.
• Deep fluency with AI models and hands-on tool usage (Claude Code).
• Experience partnering with product leadership and executives to align stakeholders while shipping fast.
• Led small, senior engineering teams while remaining hands-on.
• Healthcare tech experience incl. HIPAA, revenue cycle apps, EMR integration.
• Multi-tenant SaaS experience in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small, senior engineering team on a two-week launch cadence, shipping to real users and iterating.
• Own architecture and technical decisions for new applications, including AI integration in workflows.
• Partner with product and executives to translate high-value ideas into working software.
• Monitor evolving AI tools and adopt strategies that create competitive advantage.
• Move prototypes to production without compromising security, reliability, or compliance.
• Recruit and coach engineers, raising technical standards across the team.
• Demonstrate progress with frequent demos of working software.
