Figma is seeking a hands‑on engineering leader to support and grow the AI Infrastructure team, defining technical strategy and collaborating across engineering to deliver a robust AI platform. You will hire, coach, and guide senior engineers, shaping the team’s direction and execution with urgency.

The role emphasizes leadership in production AI systems, learning new AI technologies, and scaling the org as Figma’s AI products expand, with a focus on inclusion and high performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering management experience leading high‑performing teams in AI space.
• 8+ years of total engineering experience, ideally at staff engineer level as IC.
• Experience working on production AI systems.
• Proven track record of mentoring and growing AI engineering leads.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new AI technologies quickly and build depth in a new domain.
• Experience building and scaling engineering teams and org structure as they grow.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and support a team of engineers building foundational infrastructure for Figma’s AI products.
• Define the team’s technical strategy and manage day‑to‑day project execution with peers across engineering and product.
• Hire, coach, and develop senior and staff engineers to scale the team.
• Engage deeply with technical details to ensure robust AI platform delivery.
• Foster an inclusive team culture through thoughtful hiring and team-building practices.
