Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer, AI Infrastructure to design, operate, and scale Starshield’s GPU and AI infrastructure in Hawthorne, CA. You will develop automation for on-premise compute resources and collaborate with AI engineers to deliver scalable, maintainable software products.

Responsibilities span deploying core infrastructure, managing GPU clusters, and improving systems for high availability while ensuring security compliance and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems/IT, or engineering with 1+ years in SRE/DevOps or 3+ years in SRE/DevOps in lieu of a degree.
• 1+ years of professional experience with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with infrastructure tooling (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Kubernetes).
• Scripting experience in Bash, Python, or similar.
• Development experience in Python, C++, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide support for GPU as a service on bare metal hardware and virtualized platforms.
• Design, validate, and productize AI cluster solutions (100k+ GPU scale).
• Develop automation to deploy and manage on-premise Kubernetes/AI clusters and operating systems.
• Deploy and manage core infrastructure such as databases, monitoring and distributed storage.
• Collaborate with AI engineers to create scalable, operable products.
• Oversee the full lifecycle from inception to deployment and refinement.
• Monitor and alert supporting systems for high availability.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions.
