Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer, Data Center Infrastructure in Bastrop, TX. You will own reliability for compute, storage, and networking across Starship and Starlink programs, designing for scale and proactive maintenance. Strong Linux skills, IaC tooling, and collaboration with manufacturing teams are essential.

You will participate in on-call rotations, travel to sites as needed, and contribute to continuous improvement of production systems in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, information systems, or an engineering discipline; OR 3+ years in SRE/DevOps.
• 1+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, upgrade, operate, maintain, and scale compute, storage, and networking for manufacturing systems.
• Manage infrastructure as code and observability for platform health.
• Design for reliability, stability, and scale; remove bottlenecks with measurements.
• Lead proactive capacity planning and lifecycle management to reduce toil.
• Collaborate with software engineers and site teams for operable systems.
• Improve full lifecycle from design to deployment and refinement.
• Execute blameless postmortems and sustainables incident response.
• Provide high‑quality support to manufacturing and engineering users.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders; participate in on-call and site travel.
