Job summary

WEX seeks a motivated undergraduate in CS/SE/IT to join Engineering as an intern, working across Developer Enablement and AI infrastructure teams. You will tackle MCP server work, cloud migration, SDLC security, and modern GenAI tooling with Python, AWS, Terraform, and GitHub Actions.

You’ll collaborate with engineers and PMs in an autonomous, supportive environment, receiving mentorship and hands-on leadership experience while many interns transition to full-time or extended roles.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in CS/SE/IT or related field.
• Strong Python skills and API integration ability.
• Experience with Git/GitHub and CLI workflows.
• Knowledge of networking basics and REST APIs.
• Strong written and verbal communication with a service mindset.
• Curiosity and initiative to learn new technologies and AI.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and maintain MCP servers and AI infra for SDLC.
• Audit and upgrade GitHub Actions; create reusable workflow templates.
• Refactor Terraform modules to automate Artifactory setups and RBAC.
• Assist internal developers; triage and resolve tickets with SLA adherence.
• Evaluate GenAI tools to automate workflows and back-end services.
• Support SDLC security with automated tagging and guardrails.
• Create README files, starter repos, and secure pipeline docs.
• Participate in daily standups and design sessions with distributed teams.
