RJI Search is partnering with a boutique investment firm to hire its first Applied AI Specialist. This role lands at the intersection of data, AI, and finance, shaping how a small, global team uses AI with day-one ownership and direct access to partners.

You will lead AI adoption across multiple locations, build data pipelines that fuse decades of internal research with third-party data, and collaborate with the investment team to accelerate research and reporting through AI-enabled tools.

AI Implementation Specialist | Small Investment Firm | Onsite initially, then moving to Remote (Tri-State Area)

RJI Search is partnering with a well-established, boutique investment firm to find its first Applied AI Specialist. This is a rare chance to shape how a small, global team uses AI, with real ownership from day one and direct access to the firm's partners.

The Opportunity

The firm has built more than 20 years of proprietary research and financial data across asset classes. Your mission is to turn that data into structured, AI-ready systems and to weave AI into the way the firm already works, making research, reporting and client service faster and smarter. This isn't about one-off chatbots. It's about building a practical, connected data and technology foundation that people use every day.

What You'll Do

• Lead the rollout and adoption of AI tools for a team of about 30 users across multiple locations, making them part of everyday workflows
• Build and maintain data pipelines that bring together decades of internal research, proprietary databases and third-party data
• Partner with the investment team to speed up research, monitoring and idea generation with AI-enabled tools
• Create reusable templates and models that connect research and data platforms to AI workflows
• Automate accounting, finance and performance reporting processes
• Support business development with AI-enabled client reporting, pitch materials, proposals and CRM tracking
• Automate client deliverables such as presentations, meeting prep and recurring communications
• Own data quality, governance and reliability so every output is accurate and auditable
• Manage outsourced IT and technology vendors across infrastructure, cloud, security and privacy
• Run projects end to end, including timelines, stakeholder alignment and change management, while keeping pace with the fast-moving AI landscape

What You Bring

• 4 to 10 years delivering technology or data-driven solutions in a business setting
• Hands-on experience with applied AI, data platforms or automation, including turning large datasets into AI-ready form
• Experience putting data systems into daily use and integrating third-party data sources
• The ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions (hands-on coding is not required)
• Working knowledge of data governance, security and privacy, especially with sensitive financial data
• Confidence managing outsourced IT and vendors
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical audiences, from investment and operations teams to clients
• A practical, get-it-done mindset in a fast-moving, multi-location environment
• Financial services or investment experience is a plus, but not required

Work Arrangement

• Onsite for the first few weeks to learn the team, systems and data
• Then primarily remote, with onsite visits about once a quarter or less
• Candidates should be based in the New York Tri-State area or within reasonable travel distance
