OpenAI is seeking a Product Reliability Engineer in San Francisco to own reliability across PCBAs, trays, systems, and racks. You will translate service-life goals into requirements, design tests, and drive failure analysis from development to production and field deployment.

You will work with electrical, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, quality, and data center teams, suppliers, and partners to improve durability, serviceability, and availability in a hybrid work model.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on reliability engineering experience with IT hardware (AI/HPC servers, networking, storage).
• Designed, instrumented and executed hardware reliability tests; translated results into design improvements.
• Understand failure mechanisms in electronic assemblies; enabled qualification plans with defined stress levels.

Aufgaben

• Define reliability requirements for PCBAs, trays, systems, and racks using mission profiles and environments.
• Lead DFMEA/physics-of-failure reviews and prioritize risks with design improvements.
• Own reliability qualification plans from NPI through production and field deployment.
• Develop accelerated life and environmental tests and monitor degradation under stress.
• Analyze life-test and field data using Weibull and related models; state assumptions and uncertainty.
