Job summary

Etched in San Jose, CA is seeking an engineer for the Internal Acceleration team to build agents that accelerate frontier tokens. You will work directly with the founders and embed with kernels, ASIC, hardware, and production teams to move fast and own problems end to end.

This role rewards ambiguity tolerance, product sense, and hands-on execution; you will ship full-stack internal tools, design evals, and collaborate across disciplines. It’s not a 9-5, and equity opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• 1-5+ years of experience building and shipping software end to end, ideally at a fast-moving startup.
• Strong full-stack skills; focus on shipped results rather than every line written.
• Built LLM agents or AI tooling used by real users; includes context engineering, tool integration, evals, failure analysis.
• Ability to ramp quickly on unfamiliar domains with agentic coding tools and frontier models.

Responsibilities

• Embed with kernels, ASIC, hardware, and production teams to own bottlenecks from idea to tool engineers rely on.
• Build and deploy LLM agents wired into engineering workflows via tool-calling and MCP.
• Ship full-stack internal products: interfaces, data pipelines, and infrastructure that Etched builds.
• Measure impact with evals and adoption tracking to double down on impactful tools.
• Tackle special projects directly with founders to hit critical milestones.
