Job summary

Humana, Inc. seeks an Executive leader for Associate Vice President, Model & AI Governance. This role sets the enterprise framework for model governance, AI risk management, responsible AI, and governance controls, reporting to the Chief Audit & Risk Officer.

You will partner with technology, data, clinical and compliance teams to ensure safe, ethical and compliant AI deployment. You will own the governance program, supervise a hybrid team, and provide independent challenge on AI and model risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in risk management, model risk management, AI governance or related fields.
• Experience leading enterprise-wide model and AI governance programs.
• Executive-level experience in a highly regulated organization, preferably healthcare.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML, governance, and regulatory trends.
• Knowledge of ERM, internal controls, issue management and risk appetite.
• Experience presenting to executives and board-level audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously enhance the enterprise model governance framework including risk classification, validation, approval and monitoring.
• Define model risk appetite, taxonomy, control standards and escalation thresholds.
• Provide effective challenge over model development, validation, and monitoring.
• Oversee enterprise model inventory, ownership, documentation and risk classification.
• Establish standards for model validation including bias, explainability and monitoring.
• Govern third‑party and externally developed models.
• Develop and oversee Responsible AI framework and principles.
• Establish governance standards for fairness, privacy, transparency and safe AI use.
• Develop AI risk assessments, approval requirements and ongoing oversight.
• Lead governance committees and report risk exposure and trends to leadership and board.
