Shasta Community Health Center seeks an AI Engagement Specialist to lead governance, risk assessment, and implementation of AI technologies in a healthcare setting. You will collaborate with CIO and cross-functional teams to ensure safe, compliant, and effective AI use.

You will establish standards, review tools, coordinate staff training, and monitor ongoing performance and safety of AI initiatives, while balancing patient care and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, organizational leadership, health informatics, compliance, information systems, or related field.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare operations, organizational change, digital health, clinical informatics, compliance, privacy, enterprise technology, quality improvement, or related area.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains practical policies, standards, and approval processes for the responsible use of AI at SCHC.
• Maintains an inventory of approved AI tools and use cases, including accountable owners, risk levels, safeguards, and review dates.
• Supports identification and reduction of unauthorized or inappropriate AI use, seeks to understand the need behind the use, and provides practical approved alternatives when possible.
• Coordinates input from clinical, operational, privacy, security, compliance, legal, and technology experts based on the use under review.
• Monitors adoption, performance, benefits, concerns, and unintended consequences and recommends changes or escalation when needed.
