Job summary

Referment, working with a global investment and technology firm, seeks an attorney to advise on responsible AI adoption across investing, technology and business functions.

You will help teams pursue practical uses of AI while identifying and mitigating legal and regulatory risk in a commercially grounded way. The role sits within Legal & Compliance and collaborates with business development, investment professionals and technologists.

Qualifications

• Law degree and 5–7 years of post-qualification experience in a legal advisory or counsel role.
• Experience in law firms, asset managers, financial services or fintech with commercial focus.
• Strong drafting, communication and project management skills.
• In-house product-counsel or general advisory experience preferred.
• Interest in AI with ability to translate technical concepts into business guidance.

Responsibilities

• Advise teams on removing legal barriers to AI adoption while managing risk.
• Review new AI tools, vendor arrangements, data-use questions and workflows.
• Support development and maintenance of AI governance framework.
• Anticipate legal implications of emerging AI capabilities and translate into guidance.
• Draft policies and procedures to support compliance.
