Job summary

Gravity IT Resources is hiring an AI Governance Analyst for a 1-year contract in Charlotte, NC. This role blends data governance and AI governance, with hands-on vetting of use cases, policy development, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.

You will rewrite and implement the AI policy stack, build guidance for business teams, and collaborate with cyber, legal, and data stewards to operationalize governance. Hybrid onsite, three days per week.

Qualifications

• Strong Data Governance experience.
• AI Governance experience is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with semantic layers, ontology, or knowledge-graph concepts is a plus.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
• 6+ years of experience across data governance, AI governance, data management, risk, compliance, enterprise architecture, business transformation, or technology strategy.
• Deep programming or technical depth is not required; governance and people skills emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on vetting of AI use cases, third-party tools, assessing risk and bias.
• Rewrite and implement the AI policy stack and support AI compliance program.

We're hiring an AI Governance Analyst to help a large enterprise organization build out its AI governance and compliance program. This role blends data governance and AI governance, hands-on vetting of AI use cases, policy development, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement, rather than a classic business analyst or engineering role.

This is a great fit for someone who leads with governance expertise and people skills, negotiation, education, and buy-in, rather than deep technical or programming depth.

What You'll Do:

• Conduct hands-on vetting of every AI use case entering the organization, third-party purchases and internal tools alike, assessing risk, bias, and model behavior
• Help rewrite and implement the AI policy stack and contribute to the broader AI compliance program
• Build requirements for a Semantic layer, knowledge graph, or ontology to improve AI outcomes and reduce cost over time
• Partner cross-functionally with cyber, legal, business units, and data stewards to negotiate and operationalize governance
• Translate technical and policy findings into practical, actionable guidance for business teams

What You'll Bring:

• Strong Data Governance experience, this is the most valued background for this role
• AI Governance experience, even around a year, is a strong plus
• Familiarity with semantic layers, ontology, or knowledge-graph concepts is a plus, not required
• Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and negotiation skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority
• 6+ years of experience across data governance, AI governance, data management, risk, compliance, enterprise architecture, business transformation, or technology strategy
• Deep programming or technical specialization is not required, this role is governance and people-skills focused
