Job summary

MIT Lincoln Laboratory is seeking a Summer Research Program Intern for 2027 in AI and Geospatial Analysis for Natural Hazards. You will join a multidisciplinary team to design AI-based analysis tools, integrate GIS data, and evaluate prototype visualization tools related to natural-hazard resilience.

The role focuses on agentic AI workflows, geospatial processing, data engineering, and quantitative analysis, with mentorship and professional development opportunities during the 10–12 week summer

Qualifications

Pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in a technical field (CS/DS/Engineering) is welcome.
Strong problem solving, independent and team work, and written/oral communication are required.
Experience with Python and AI/ML concepts is expected.
Familiarity with GIS, data visualization, and quantitative analysis is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Develop agentic AI workflows to extract, connect, and analyze information from technical documents.
Integrate GIS and geospatial data to evaluate geographic coverage and portfolio gaps.
Develop and evaluate prototype analysis and visualization tools for hazard planning.
