Job summary

Capital One in San Jose, CA seeks a Senior Manager, Data Science - AI Foundations to lead scalable NLP/ML powered features across the Capital One app. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deploy models that enhance customer experiences and financial decisions at scale.

You will drive research, design, and productionization of LLM-based solutions, mentor data scientists, and own end-to-end delivery from data to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field plus 7 years of experience performing data analytics.
• Master's degree in a quantitative field or MBA with quantitative concentration plus 5 years of experience performing data analytics.
• PhD in a quantitative field plus 2 years of experience performing data analytics.
• At least 2 years of experience leveraging open source programming languages for large scale data analysis.
• At least 2 years of experience working with machine learning.
• At least 2 years of experience utilizing relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, ML engineers and product managers to deliver AI powered products.
• Leverage a broad stack of technologies — PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, LangChain, Lightning, VectorDBs, and more.
• Be the expert in NLP to harness the power of Large Language Models and adapt them for customer facing applications.
• Build ML and NLP models through all phases of development and operationalize them in production systems serving millions of customers.
• Translate complex work into tangible business goals.
