Job summary

Capital One seeks an AI Engineer 4 to join the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team in San Jose, CA. You will design, train, and deploy AI-powered systems, including foundation models and multi-agent workflows, while ensuring governance, observability, and efficient inference on modern hardware.

You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, PMs, and leaders to advance AI capabilities across Capital One, mentoring others and shaping the long-term AI strategy and roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's with required AI/ML experience as stated in Basic Qualifications.
• 4+ years programming with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Deliver AI software components including training, inference, agents, and workflows.
• Leverage Open Source/SaaS AI tech such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, PyTorch.
• Define and maintain SLOs for AI reliability; optimize GPU/TPU usage.
• Mentor associates on scalable design and production translation.
