Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 5 to help build responsible AI systems and scalable infrastructure. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy AI software components, from model training to inference, using a broad stack including AWS, HuggingFace, PyTorch, and VectorDBs.

The role emphasizes optimizing performance and cost, and contributing to the strategic roadmap of AI foundations and agentic workflows. A strong foundation in engineering and mathematics is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/AI/EE/CE with 4–6+ years of AI/ML experience.
• 6+ years of Python/Go/Scala/CUDA/Java development in AI/ML.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage open-source and SaaS AI tech stacks like AWS, HuggingFace, PyTorch.
• Advance foundation model optimization for cost, latency and throughput.
• Contribute to long-term AI systems roadmap and governance.
