Job summary

EY is seeking a hands-on Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to own the end-to-end delivery of AI-native systems for a single client in highly regulated industries. You will be the technical authority in an Advanced Forward Engineering cell, owning tradeoffs and outcomes while staying deeply involved in code and client environments.

This role requires 8+ years delivering complex enterprise solutions, strong cloud and distributed system skills, and the ability to lead a small tech team as an IC.

Qualifications

• 8+ years delivering complex enterprise systems, ideally in regulated or client-facing contexts.
• Hands-on engineering depth across integration-heavy architectures and cloud platforms.
• Experience with modern AI-enabled stacks (agentic systems, orchestration, LLM-backed services).
• Proven ability to own outcomes end to end in forward-deployed roles.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end outcome delivery for the cell, including scoping, tradeoffs, and production readiness.
• Embed directly with the client to translate business needs into executable technical solutions under constraints.
• Serve as the primary technical interface to client stakeholders, managing expectations and trust.
• Stay hands-on, designing and building critical parts of the solution when needed.
• Deploy, adapt, and stabilize solutions in the client environment with release readiness accountability.
• Direct the work of the cell’s engineers, ensuring integrated, production-grade outcomes.
• Ensure deployments meet safety, integrity, and cost constraints with governance.
