Job summary

Idealist Consulting in the United States is seeking a 1099 Contract AI Solution Architect to guide the expansion of our AI for Nonprofits offerings. You will translate nonprofit needs into Claude-based solutions, evaluate platforms, and lead pre-sales as a solution architect.

You’ll mentor Consultants, champion responsible AI, and collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver compliant, high-impact projects across fundraising, case management, and advocacy.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing and deploying generative AI/LLM solutions.
• 3+ years nonprofit sector experience with core processes.
• 2+ years using story mapping for requirements.
• 3+ years leading technology implementation teams.
• 3+ years Agile and Waterfall project management.
• Eager to learn and take on challenges.
• Nonprofit solution expertise.
• Platform expertise in AI tools and agentic workflows.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate client requirements into AI solutions using Claude platform.
• Assist Sales and Services with estimates and scope.
• Lead project teams and ensure delivery quality in the Idealist Way.
• Develop methodologies and documentation for AI implementations.
• Mentor Consultants within AI for Nonprofits specialization.
• Contribute to industry thought leadership and client-facing content.
• Represent the company at industry events.
