Job summary

Geotab Inc. in Atlanta seeks a Team Lead, Software Development for Altitude to guide a skilled engineering team, deliver scalable features, and drive AI-first development across end-to-end workflows.

You will manage tasks, mentor engineers, collaborate with product managers and data scientists, perform code reviews, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining code quality and security. The role requires a post-secondary degree in CS or Software Eng and 4+ years of software development

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years experience as a Software Developer using object-oriented programming to build scalable applications.
• Leadership experience in coaching, development, and performance management of direct reports.
• Experience guiding UX designers or design function, including reviewing prototypes and giving meaningful feedback.
• Proficiency with Google BigQuery, cloud-native data pipelines (GCP preferred), Docker, Kubernetes, and messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Proven experience leveraging AI to write code, optimize workflows, and streamline development processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct software development projects; develop and implement efficient, clean code with assigned team that satisfies customer requirements.
• Manage team with regards to task assignments, work arrangements and other Software Development Department expectations.
• Ensure work progress stays on schedule and update stakeholders on project status.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and UX designers to define, design, and ship features across the Altitude platform.
• Perform Test-Driven and Security-Driven Development.
• Conduct comprehensive testing and code reviews to maximize code quality and best practices.
• Participate in development of prototypes, minimum viable products and PoCs.
• Provide expert project leadership and guidance to the team as a SME.
• Oversee the activities and performance of direct reports with coaching and mentorship.
