Job summary

Geotab in the United States is seeking a Software Development Team Lead, Altitude to guide a small cross‑functional team including engineers and UX. You will drive design and delivery of scalable, data‑driven products that serve public and private sector customers.

You will work closely with product managers, data scientists, and UX designers to define, design, and ship features across the Altitude platform.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years experience as a Software Developer using object-oriented programming.
• Leadership experience in a team-oriented workplace with coaching and performance management.
• Experience guiding a UX designer or design function and providing design feedback.
• Technical proficiency with Google BigQuery, cloud-native data pipelines (GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and RabbitMQ.
• Hands-on across full-stack technologies (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React, Next.js, Storybook, Node.js, Go, Python) and Git.
• Proven experience leveraging AI to improve coding and development workflows.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct software development projects and deliver scalable, data-driven products with an AI-first mindset.
• Manage team task assignments, schedules, and stakeholder updates.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and UX designers to define and ship features.
• Perform Test-Driven and Security-Driven Development and code reviews.
• Prototype development of MVPs and PoCs; document system design for maintainability.
• Provide expert leadership, mentorship, and career development support.
• Support global strategic initiatives and participate in on-call rotations where applicable.
