Job summary

Powernaut is seeking an entrepreneurial software engineer to own products end-to-end at the intersection of engineering and product. You will talk to customers, shape what gets built, then ship it yourself.

We build AI-first with agentic tooling; you’ll work with the founders and energy experts, enjoying high autonomy and a short path from idea to real users. Based in Europe, you’ll work regularly from our Ghent HQ.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineer (mid to senior) with a CS background or equivalent and a track record of shipping real products.
• Excellent product instinct and ability to engage with customers directly.
• Ability to improve workflows and AI tooling to reduce manual work.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, APIs and data integration.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript and SQL as core stacks.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery from discovery to ship and iterate; you own the outcome.
• Be the named champion for one or more customers; maintain technical relationship.
• Diagnose customer pain, weigh impact vs effort, and define what gets built.
• Develop automations to reduce repetitive work and push AI-powered features.
• Build real-time, reliable systems with high uptime and resilience.
