Job summary

CommerceIQ Inc. is seeking a hands-on Director of Product Management with an AI focus to lead incubation efforts in Mountain View. You will define AI-first product strategy, prototype agent-based workflows, and drive customer-facing discovery with retail stakeholders.

You will collaborate with Applied AI, Forward Deployed Engineering, Design, and GTM teams to ship impactful solutions for Fortune 500 brands, while traveling up to 40% for pilot programs.

Qualifications

• 6-12 years of experience in product management or equivalent AI-focused roles.
• Demonstrated interest in AI: LLMs, RAG, evals, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, etc.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping tools or notebooks (LangChain, Streamlit, Python).
• Strong product intuition and ability to simplify complex systems into compelling UX.
• Experience leading customer conversations and discovery interviews.
• Comfortable with ambiguity, high ownership, and fast-paced 0 to 1 environments.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% for customer immersion and pilots.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, CS, or related field

Responsibilities

• AI-native product thinking: identify pain points ripe for agent-based automation.
• Own the AI-first product strategy using LLMs, fine-tuning, RAG, and tool use.
• Design and evaluate agent-enabled concepts with personalization and embedded intelligence.
• Rapid prototyping & testing: create AI-driven prototypes and test with customers.
• Drive quick iterations using feedback, eval metrics, and qualitative insights.
• Build a repeatable framework to test and prioritize use cases and agent behaviors.
• Customer discovery & co-creation: conduct sessions with senior retail stakeholders.
• Translate workflows into agent-enabled solutions and build pilot conviction.
• Lead early evangelism and partner pilots to prove concepts.
• Use case library & playbooks: develop a living library of agent use cases.
• Create internal playbooks for agent design, AI evaluation, and success criteria.
• Document and update best practices across functions.
• Cross-functional execution: collaborate with AI, engineering, design, and GTM teams.
• Act as mini-CEO of use cases from exploration to launch and adoption.
