Job summary

Optum’s Global Technology Services (GTS) Infrastructure and Engineering Development Program is a 12-month, in-person development experience that starts with a three-week onboarding bootcamp and then embeds associates with a GTS team for the rest of the program. Associates own real project work from day one, guided by a mentor and senior technologists.

Qualifications

• Currently in final year of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technology-focused discipline.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML and LLMs, with ability to leverage AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and problem solving.
• Foundational understanding of cloud platforms, networking, infrastructure or systems administration.
• Working knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java, C#, JavaScript).
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical thinking, collaboration and learning agility, and curiosity.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Associate teams own real project work from day one, guided by a formal mentor and senior technologists.
• Program emphasizes building and operating AI-enabled IT and technology services; focus on translating business needs into technology outputs.
• On completion, placement into a GTS role with cohort-based community across locations and disciplines.
