Job summary

Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group, offers a hands-on GTS Infrastructure and Engineering Development Program. This 10-week, in-office internship places you with a GTS team, pairs you with a mentor, and assigns you a concrete project to present at summer's end.

You will learn to translate business needs into technology outputs, exploring areas from AI for IT operations to cloud and site reliability topics, all while working in Eden Prairie, MN.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a tech-focused degree (CS/CE/IT) at an accredited college/university.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML and LLMs with ability to leverage AI tools.
• Active enrollment throughout the internship; not intended for graduating seniors.
• Demonstrated problem solving, collaboration, adaptability, and continuous learning.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Own a dedicated project within the GTS team and present progress to mentors.
• Collaborate with senior technologists to learn operational practices and tooling.
• Engage with onboarding and AI productivity tools to support operations.
• Apply AI-enabled approaches to automate and improve IT services.
