Facilities Management eXpress (FMX) is seeking an Engineer Manager to lead a Core Team of software engineers, coaching and aligning priorities while staying close to code. You’ll champion AI-first development, guide architecture decisions, and collaborate with product, design, and QA to ship high-quality software for customers.

This role emphasizes building an inclusive, high-performing culture, mentoring engineers at all levels, and shaping FMX’s practices, tools, and standards to accelerate

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of engineering management or technical leadership experience, and prior experience as a software engineer, ideally in SaaS.
• Builder’s mindset with hands-on coding and triage contributions alongside the team.
• Experience with AI-first development and best practices you can teach others.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow your team: clarify roles, goals, and processes; provide coaching and growth opportunities.
• Build a strong culture: foster trust, accountability, and continuous improvement; connect work to customer impact.
• Clear the path: remove blockers to reduce friction for the team.
• Stay technical: understand systems to guide architecture and production readiness.
• Drive AI-first development: evaluate and set standards for AI-assisted coding, reviews, and testing tools.
• Shape the bigger picture: contribute to leadership discussions and partner with product/design for priorities and vision.
