Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a senior backend software engineer to contribute to large-scale distributed systems across multiple data centers. You will design, implement, and operate resilient services, with a strong AI-first approach and exposure to modern tooling (Kubernetes, Terraform, Spinnaker).

Requirements include 5+ years of backend development in Java, Go, Python, or Ruby, and experience with Agile and TD development.

Qualifications

A related technical degree is required or equivalent.
5+ years backend software development experience with strong fundamentals.
Deep knowledge of Java, Golang, Python, or Ruby.
Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a critical service.
Experience with Agile development and Test Driven Development.
Experience with monitoring, alerting, logging, and reporting applications.
Experience with distributed databases and PostgreSQL is a plus.
Demonstrated AI-first approach to engineering and using AI tools in workflows.

Responsibilities

Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools and frameworks across public clouds.
Design, develop, debug, and operate resilient distributed systems.
Build production-grade software with AI-driven development workflows.
Use and contribute to open source technologies like Spinnaker and Zookeeper.
Develop Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform.
Write microservices on Kubernetes, Docker, and related platforms.
Architect complex systems where AI agents integrate into human workflows.
Contribute to system context repository for designs and standards.
Critically evaluate code for correctness, security, and performance.
Resolve complex issues to improve availability and resilience.
