Job summary

Convene Hospitality Group (CHG) is seeking a Data Platform Lead to own the data platform end to end, shaping the architecture and domain-oriented models. You will guide analytics engineers and contractors, partnering with product engineering to evolve schemas and governance across Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran.

You will drive data quality, observability, and the semantic layer for trusted metrics and dashboards, while enabling conversational analytics on Snowflake tools and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering or data architecture.
• Experience building modern data platforms in production.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted data workflows and testing.
• Strong data modeling and domain-oriented marts understanding.
• Experience with data quality, observability and governance.

Responsibilities

• Own data platform end to end: architecture, reliability, and roadmap.
• Model business domains and set standards for schemas and naming.
• Turn business questions into models, metrics and definitions.
• Collaborate with product engineering on schema design and contracts.
• Own data quality, observability, tests, contracts and alerts.
• Own the BI layer with semantic views and certified metrics.
• Enable conversational analytics with natural-language querying.
• Govern access control, PII handling and docs.
• Lead analytics engineers and manage contractors.
• Hands-on with dbt, pipelines, and prototyping new approaches.
