Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking an AI FinOps Development Engineer to shape how AI is adopted and scaled company-wide. You will build capabilities that connect AI usage with costs, governance, and business value, collaborating with finance, security, and platform teams to deliver auditable solutions.

The role emphasizes developer experience, platform engineering, and scalable AI tooling, with a strong focus on data accuracy, dashboards, and decision support for AI investments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software, data, platform, cloud, FinOps, or related roles.
• Production apps, data pipelines, APIs, or analytics platforms experience.
• Experience with AI platforms and developer tools (Copilot, Vertex AI, etc.).
• Familiarity with AI pricing and consumption models.
• Relational/analytical data stores, modeling, validation, governance.
• Cloud cost management, budgeting, allocation, or showback concepts.
• Analytical thinking to translate data into dashboards and reports.
• Modern SDLC practices, CI/CD, IaC, observability, production support.
• Security, privacy, IAM, data governance knowledge.
• Strong collaboration across engineering, Finance, architecture, and security.

Responsibilities

• Deliver AI-enabled solutions improving product quality and developer productivity.
• Design and evolve AI solutions for scalable enterprise use with strong standards.
• Pilot and operationalize emerging AI tools and manage adoption lifecycle.
• Create reusable prompts, templates, and AI-augmented workflows.
• Act as a subject-matter expert for AI-assisted development across communities.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and platform teams to embed AI in workflows.
• Produce clear technical docs to support adoption and long-term sustainability.
• Contribute to training materials and internal communications on AI tools.
• Gather feedback to refine solutions and maximize business value.
• Define success metrics and use data to improve reliability and lead time.
