Job summary

Tokyo Electron Limited’s TTAD lab in Silicon Valley seeks a Sr. Manager of AI Engineering to lead a multi-location team delivering AI programs for autonomous fab knowledge stores. You will oversee data sourcing, model development, and governance across collaborations with process, equipment, and IT groups.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on evaluation of experiments, and cross-team coordination, with travel to East Asia as needed. Hybrid work from San Jose, CA is available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant engineering experience in AI/ML or computer science research.
• 4+ years of experience with complex hardware+software systems.
• 2+ years of small-group direct people management experience.
• Expertise in semantic capture, search, and embedding spaces.
• PhD or MSc in Computer Science or adjacent areas; or BSc with 10+ years AI/ML/CS research excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of AI programs including research, solution/model development, evaluation, and prototype development.
• Partner with process, equipment, field-service, and IT to source domain data and validate results.
• Coordinate with TEL HQ for requirements, data-sharing, confidentiality, and deployment.
