Job summary

onsemi is seeking an AI Engineering Intern to contribute to the Yield Enhancement Systems (YES) team. You’ll help develop AI agents that improve manufacturing analytics and engineering productivity, prototyping workflows with modern LLM platforms.

Collaborate with manufacturing, product, process, and software teams to translate requirements into practical AI solutions, build dashboards, and accelerate AI-driven engineering insights.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed BS/MS in a technical discipline.
• Strong programming, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
• Experience building AI agents, chatbots, copilots, or automation is a plus.
• Experience with Azure cloud platform is a plus.
• Familiarity with Python data libraries (Pandas/NumPy/Scikit-Learn) is desirable.
• Exposure to semiconductor manufacturing or analytics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate AI agents to assist engineers with manufacturing analytics.
• Prototype intelligent workflows and copilots using modern LLM platforms.
• Build and maintain AI knowledge sources from engineering docs and data.
• Design retrieval-augmented generation and semantic search for engineering apps.
• Integrate AI apps with enterprise systems via APIs and databases.
• Develop Python utilities for data prep, automation, AI experiments, and reporting.
• Create dashboards and visualizations to support yield monitoring and investigations.
• Identify trends, anomalies, and manufacturing issues with AI-assisted techniques.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, product, process, test, and software teams to translate requirements.
• Use AI tooling to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation.
