Job summary

HexHex is seeking a visionary leader to head its AI engineering team, partnering with the CEO and CTO to shape post-training research, model evaluation, and continuous learning. Based in the US, this full-time role can be based in San Francisco or New York with a hybrid schedule.

You will hire and guide a top-tier team of AI engineers and researchers, drive partnerships, and produce high-impact technical content to showcase our research outcomes across audiences.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading applied research, AI engineering, or ML engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in modern AI technology and classical ML systems including LLMs and transformer models.
• Passion for delivering exceptional product experiences backed by AI and driving business outcomes.
• Strong communicator and collaborator, empowering product and engineering counterparts.
• Talent magnet with ability to attract and retain AI talent.
• Experience with RL environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO and CTO to define and execute research strategy across post-training, model evaluation, search and retrieval, and continuous learning.
• Manage research partnerships with startups and major labs.
• Hire and manage an exceptional team of AI engineers and researchers.
